The Sevent Hadith from Arba'in Nawawi: Religion is Advice

 The following is the seventh hadith from the book of arba'in nawawi hadith. Studying the seventh hadith and memorizing it will benefit us so that we become human beings who believe in Allah and are helpful to others.

عَنْ اَبِي رُقَيَّةَ تَمِيْمِ الدَّرِى رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ اَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلّمَ قَالَ الدِّيْنُ النَّصِيْحَةُ , قُلْنَا لِمَنْ ؟ قَالَ : لِلّهِ وَلِكِتَابِهِ وَلِرَسُوْلِهِ وَلِأَئِمَةِ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ وَعَامَّتِهِمْ (رواه البخارى ومسلم)

Latin Inscription : ‘an abi ruqoyyata Tamim a Dariy rodhiyallahu ‘anhu annannabiiya shollallahu ‘alaihi wa sallama qoladdiinun nashihat, qulna liman? Qola lillahi walikitabihi walirosuulihi wali aimatil muslimiina wa a’ammatihim.

It means :

From Abu Ruqoyah Tamim Ad Daari Radhiyallahuanhu, in fact the Prophet sallallaahu`alaihi wa sallam said: Religion is advice, we say: To whom? He said: To Allah, His book, His Messenger, and to the leaders of the Muslims and their people. (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)

Here are six contents or contents of the seventh arba'in nawawi hadith:

1. Religion is advice, meaning that in Islam, there is advice for Muslims wherever they are. In the Islamic religion, there are all the rules that we must run and stay away from as humans on earth. Allah made humans as caliphs on earth to prosper the world by the laws of Islamic Shari'ah.
2. Religion is advice for Allah, meaning that by being Muslim, we must believe in Allah as our god and believe that there is no god but Allah, including the main teachings of monotheism.
3. Religion is advice for Allah's books, meaning that by being Muslim, we must believe in the existence of Allah's books, including what is written in our holy Qur'an. We must have faith and believe in the Islamic teachings contained therein.
4. Religion is advice for the prophet. In our Islamic religion, we know that there is a command from Allah to the prophet to be patient, to withstand the test of da'wah, and to continue to spread goodness to all Muslims. What the prophet Muhammad has done, we must believe in and imitate him as a form of our monotheism which testifies that the prophet Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.
5. Religion is advice for Muslim leaders. Muslim leaders can be class leaders, mosque imams, RT heads, RW heads, village heads, sub-district heads, and so on, whereas, in Islam, there is advice for them to do justice in carrying out policies. Following Islamic rules, if our leader, be it the class president or the imam of the mosque, makes a mistake, we are obliged to reprimand them. We can condemn them in a good way where advice can reach them without hurting them.
6. Religion is advice for the people of Muslims. It means to obey Allah and obey the Messenger of Allah and the leaders among you all. In Islam, there are orders for Muslims to follow their leaders as long as they are not on the wrong path, as written in the Qur'an athi'ullaha wa athi'urrosuula wa ulil amri minkum. Islam also teaches fellow believers to help each other, to help one another following Islamic sharia rules.
